More Than Just a Handheld: D600_Deck_Mk 1 Conversion Kit STL Files Now Available

2026.01.22

Today, the D600 designer is releasing the files for the D600_Deck_Mk 1. It’s not a fancy new product release; it’s just a practical upgrade for the D600 belt sander you already have. We’re putting these STL files out there for free so anyone with a 3D printer can tweak their tool to work exactly how they want it to.

The idea is pretty basic: sometimes you need a handheld sander to move around a big project, but when you’re working on small parts or scale models, you need that machine to stay put. This kit lets you mount the sander firmly to your bench. It frees up your hands, giving you the steady control you need for those fine, tricky edges.

We made sure to include a small worktable and a fence. If you’ve ever tried to sand down plastic or resin prints, you know how much a solid reference point helps with the "feel" of the work. It’s a compact setup that doesn't hog your desk space, but it makes a world of difference in your workflow.

"A tool should be something you can modify and make your own," says the designer. "We’re sharing this because we want the D600 to be more than just a rough-sanding tool. You don’t need to spend more money—just print it, bolt it on, and you’ve got a much more capable partner on your workbench."

Feel free to remix it or change the dimensions to fit your own style. The D600_Deck_Mk 1 STL files are live now on Downloads.
